In late 2007, Suburban Hospital’s comprehensive stroke program achieved Primary Stroke Center designation from both The Joint Commission (a recertification) and the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS). The dual recognition highlights the importance of our 24/7 NIH Stroke Team in providing timely care to assure patients the best chance for recovery. Surveyors from both organizations were impressed with the hospital’s collaboration with NIH and the team's commitment to providing the highest quality stroke care.
